Reason to opt for higher studies in the small town of Baddi Himachal Pradesh

Dear Visitor,

Thanks for your interest in reading my article: "Reason to opt for higher studies in the small town of Baddi Himachal Pradesh" I hope you'll like this post. If you like the post please feel free to share with friends or social networks, else excuse me for my poor writing skills.

Reason I am posting this articles is that when I passed out from my 3 years engineering diploma program in the year 2003, majority of our batch mates were looking for doing B Tech and since at that time there was only one engineering college at Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh many of the friends get their engineering degrees from colleges in Delhi, Punjab and Maharashtra etc.  Many of us knew abut the Baddi Engineering college but were suspicisous about being the first batch.

Since then Baddi town has seen lots of development, not only the town became the industrial hub of the region but lots of Engineering and medical colleges has opened now. Then Baddi engineering college has become Baddi University now. The aim of this article is to help students clarify any doubts they might have in taking admission in colleges in Baddi.

Advantages of perusing higher studies in Baddi: The town has developed at a very fast pace and since there are lots of industries in the region once can easily find companies for industrial training, apprentice and job placement. To make quick summary here are the plus points:

  1. Lots of industries in the region
  2. Easy to find companies for industrial trainings
  3. Easy to get apprentice
  4. Easy job placements
  5. Equal growth prospects for medical and engineering students
  6. Near to Chandigarh, thus students can easily visit the city for interviews, travel, leisure etc.
  7. Good infrastructure
I hope this helps in making your mind for studying in Baddi. Another advantage is that since Baddi is an industrial hub, you'll need not to worry about breakdown of your bike, car, electronic appliances etc since you can easily get those repaired and fixed because of vast availability of all kind of spare parts  in Baddi.

Vijay Mallya & Kingfisher Airlines got some Relief after Pilot’s call off Strike

Some good signs for the "king of good times" who has been facing some tough times. First his Kingfisher airlines are already running under huge loss, secondly the oil companies refused to give fuel unless previous outstanding bills were cleared. The second issue was sorted out after much hard work and another problem pooped out. The pilot of the airlines call for a strike.

How today on Friday 11th of May all the pilots of the Kingfisher Airlines Called off their strike. This step was taken after the management assured them of that all the pending salaries since January will be paid by May 15. The airline had canceled 12 flights on Friday after pilots failed to report to work. Earlier the chairman Vijay Mallya on Thursday communicated employees on strike of strict actions. Airlines have been facing such problems in the past as well. In March pilots threatened for a strike but it was canceled after assurance of payment from management.

Perhaps this is tough time for all the airlines in India and abroad as well. Many of the Airline Companies are facing tough times and running in huge losses. Aviation industry in India is under crisis. Interestingly the pilots of government operated airlines called Indian airlines are still n strike and the airlines have canceled lots of international flights. Government has taken a strict action by firing around 36 pilots that are on strike and also canceled the validity of the pilots guild. Approximate 3000 Air India pilots are on strike.

Not sure about when Air India pilots will call of the strike but definitely there will be some relief for passengers as Kingfisher Airlines pilots are back to work.

Attention! With new excise policy in action liquor prices may increase by 30 to 40% in Chandigarh. Liquor in Chandigarh cost very less as compared to neighboring Panchkula and Mohali. Thus due to cheaper costs Chandigarh has been a preferred location of boozers and people from the neighboring areas came to the city beautiful for boozing. New excise policy of Chandigarh administration has brought smiles to the faces of liquor vendor in Mohali, Liquor vendors from Pakchkula, however this has caused worries to liquor wholesalers in Chandigarh. How fashion & technology compliment each other

Traditionally fashion was something limited to minor changes in dress styles or start of a new hair trend or hats etc. But nowadays fashion is not about minor changes, it has become a matter of technology.  In today's world where youth is crazy about gadgets, styles, fashion, looks and internet everything needs to be convincing. No fashion can gain popularity until and unless its convincing and revolutionary.

This gave rise to a new industry called fashion technology. Lots of retailers and manufacturers stared investing a lot and hiring experts to make fashion more trendy and become viral with the audience. Business now use every possible media to advertise their products be it TV, internet, mobiles or print media.

Fashion and technology now compliment each other. Technology is not only being used to market/advertise the fashion products but also being introduced in the fashion industry right from designing to the production. E.g. 3D scanning of  human bodies enabled designers to have virtual try of every product manufactured in the factory rather than using dolls or dummies as it has been done in the past. Thus custom fitted garments, shoes or other products can be easily designed and manufactured with 100% accuracy and virtual try gives the freedom to test from different body angles in 3D.  Same concept is also being used by various showrooms to let customers take a look and their look alike image on screen and how the selected clothing will look and fit on their body. This is definitely an enhancement is the shopping experience.  Now no need to trust the opinion of the salesperson, spouse or other companions to decide whether to purchase a product or not.

I'd also like to share my 2 separate blogs on Fashion and Technology. You can take a look and share your feedback regarding those two blogs as well. In the mean time I plan to share more about the evolution of fashion and technology cocktail in the future post. Signing off for now.

Have a great day ahead.

Because It’s All Taken Care Of!!

Years ago, when I was under 15, I dreaded ‘hospitals’. There was something ominous about them, something that made me cringe in my heart. You understand, right? If you’re told someone close to you has been shifted to a hospital for whatever reason that maybe, it is NOT good news! I always took a ‘hospital’ as a sign of warning, foreboding.

And Doctors? That’s another story in itself. My mental image of a Doctor was that of a sadistic devil with a syringe as his sole weapon, running behind me to give me a ‘shot’! Maybe it was just my doctor alone who enjoyed poking my arm with his needle even at the slightest bodily dysfunction. Not a happy memory!

The point? This was years ago, let’s come back to today then! The brand image of Hospitals and Doctors has changed in my mind’s eye completely. I no longer associate words like sickness, trouble and debilitation to hospitals. They are now places where people ‘heal’, get ‘cured’, are helped to overcome their problems.

And Doctors? Yes, they are no longer the demons of my imagination, they are men and women dressed in white/green who are guardians of life here on Earth doing God’s job! I don’t see needles anymore. I see stethoscopes, prescriptions and medicines! All saying that ‘things are under control’.

In our country we proudly have a huge network of both Government and Private hospitals. Government hospitals/Civil hospitals/Military hospitals cater to both poor and the rich. But Private Hospitals that promise and deliver world class health care services can only be afforded by the wealthy!

Each city and state has its own medical facility for patients. But some well known brands such as Fortis, Apollo, are located all over the country with their Hospitals in Hyderabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, etc. They offer the best rooms, best medical care, and will give you the best treatment there is!

In fact the Hospitals in Hyderabad especially, are famous for their low cost treatment. Though the doctors in Hyderabad are a little behind in the kind of expertise the doctors in Delhi possess. People travel the world to be treated by these miracle workers in Delhi.

I feel so proud today knowing that in our country there are doctors who are specialists in all diseases of the mind and body, and at the first sign of any problem I know that there are hospitals in all cities everyone can easily go to and get relief. Because with the medical centers across India “It’s All Taken Care Of!”

Gemstones Exporters in India demand removal of jewellery duty

Gemstones Exporters in India are deadening the Indian government to give exemption from jewellery duty so as to help gemstones and jewellery expoterts in India industry grow. According to the representative of the gemstones India if government gives tax exemption then India can become the international trading hub for gems, jewellery (be it gold, silver, diamond or artificial jewellery).

G&JEPC also known as Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of Indian was quoted in the media saying that government of India must introduce the recommendation as given by Sivaraman Committee in 2006.

Diamond exporters in India have already achieved the distinction of cutting 14 of the 15 diamonds sold across the globe. Thus these tax benefits can not only help India become a hub of global diamond trading but can be helpful to both merchants and the government a well. If the recommendations of the Sivaraman Committee are accepted it can encourage more investments in gemstones and jewellery section, increase profits, develop global competitiveness of the industry, retain skilled labour and increased job opportunities in this industry.

‘Warmth and style both?? Yes! You heard it!’

I often winced when I looked at women at weddings and parties during winters. My first reaction, ‘ Tsk tsk, aren’t they cold?’

As a kid I laughed thinking maybe the ‘aunties’ have got the season wrong! Someone should go and whisper in their ear, ‘I’m sorry! But it’s winter time! Aren’t you a little under-dressed for the season and oh, by the way, aren’t you freezing?’ I mean who in their right minds would wear sleeveless suits n dresses, low cut backless blouses when it’s 5 degrees outside? Whatever happened to sweaters and jackets?

I get the answer now when I’m one of the ‘big girls’ myself. If you’re a woman the answer is more of a rule- “You can’t compromise on fashion! You just can’t! Even if it means you have to torment your body at sub-zero levels of temperature.’

Funny how things change with age, now I ask who in their right minds would wear a sweater or a jacket over a pretty looking dress and hide it. You spend so much money on the embroidery, on the glitter of the sequins, on the custom fit design, why would you not want the world to see it?

Then do you reckon winters mean shivering to death in the name of fashion? No!
I am still confused about who first thought of ‘shawls’. Was it the Persians? The British? The Indians? Or did they all think of it at the same time but India just did the best job at it? The fact remains, shawls made in India have been ruling over any other shawls made anywhere in the world since ages now and as far as I am concerned all I can say is God bless whoever invented them!

I’ve literally seen women wear the nicest dresses and ruin them with cardigans and sweaters. Apparently, you still don’t have many options in the sweater/jacket/over-coat sections.

Shawls have come as saviors, to save millions from committing fashion faux pas. Wrap them around the shoulders and you’re good to go! A neatly folded shawl, draped over the body covering just the arms and shoulders gives you the dual benefit, style and warmth!

Initially Kashmiri Pashmina shawls dominated the market. But for most people, the pleasure and the pride in owning even one of the pure pashmina shawls is still only a dream because of their towering prices but the good news is they aren’t the only options anymore. There’s a new emerging market of woolen shawls in Ludhiana, Amritsar and Delhi. These shawls made in Punjab and outside Kashmir may not be of the finest quality but they sure do the intended job well. What more could you ask for? Of course if you’re one of those filthy rich ‘party’ people, then Pashmina/cashmere is always vintage and never goes out of vogue and will give you guaranteed head turns!

Shawls have gone so trendy over time that girls, ladies, every one is wearing one. Picture a color and a design and chances are you’ll see it printed on a shawl.

You would think that these shawls are doing rounds only in India. You would be surprised to know the revenue generated from the export trade of these shawls. There’s a list of Woolen shawls Exporters in India and Designer shawls Exporters in India, who have been in the export business long enough and are still making profits by the day.

To top that all these Woolen shawls Exporters in India and Designer shawls Exporters in India especially in Punjab and Kashmir are finding it difficult to meet the growing worldwide demand. It’s as if suddenly everyone knows a deep secret and wants to get their hands on all shawls, any shawls -woolen, synthetic, pashmina as long as they’re coming from India.

Wouldn’t it be silly if you still didn’t have one in your wardrobe especially when they’ve become so affordable and are so very stylish? No matter what age you are, a mirror never lies just try one and take your pick!

  • Visit local jewelry stores: Many times I’ve found jewelers selling different kind of watches. Chances are that the owners of the watches gave them to the jewelers for selling.
  • Get a replica watch: Replica watches looks like real and in case you don’t want to spend that much amount of money, you can get a replica watch of any brand that cost in fractions as compared to the real one. Trust me it’ll be only you who know you are wearing a replica piece, none can ever find the truth ;)
  • Purchase online: Some online sites can give you best deals and heavy discounts; all you need to do is research and make sure you are dealing with a reputable online store.
  • Bid online: If you have a good experience in bidding at online auction sites you can try bidding and win a watch for you at very good price.
